It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Morter. She passed away peacefully at her home in Royal Oaks at the age of 93. A life well lived!
Doris is survived by her four children; Arlene (Doug) Bentley, Brenda Gendron, Laurie Maetche (Blaine Lutwick) and Murray Morter, brother Gordie Sharp, 8 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo and son-in-law Mike Gendron.
Doris was born in Lacombe to Gordon and Elizabeth Sharp and was raised in the Eclipse district.
Doris and Leo were married August 18, 1954 and farmed in the Lincoln district where they lived for over 57 years. After Leo's passing, Doris moved into Royal Oaks Independent living and then into the Supportive living in May of this year.
Doris volunteered her time to many causes with St. Andrews United Church and the Lacombe Nursing Home Auxiliary being the top two.
Family and friends were Doris' pride and joy. She talked often of how "blessed" she was.
Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church (5226 - 51 Ave) in Lacombe on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
If friends desire, donations in honour of Doris may be directed to Alberta Cancer Foundation at albertacancer.ca or to St. Andrew's United Church (5226 - 51 Avenue, Lacombe, AB T4L 1J6).
