Dwight Alfred Rick

It is with great sadness that we announce Dwight Alfred Rick of Lacombe passed away unexpectedly on the 23rd day of June 2021 at the age of 68 in Blackfalds, AB.

Dwight is survived by his loving wife Linda Rick, and well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dwight is predeceased by his loving parents Claire and Gladwin Rick as well as his 3 siblings. John, Keith and Suzzane Rick. 

Dwight was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia in August of 1952. He moved out west to the city of Calgary, AB in 1972 as a young man looking to experience the west coast. It was in Calgary that he met great people, built relationships and started his adult journey. Through mutual friends he met his beloved wife, Linda. Linda and Dwight were married in 2003 in Lacombe. It was here where he decided to plant his roots. He made an abundance of friends and was well known within the community. Living in a great community like Lacombe allowed Dwight to enjoy the things he liked, the simple things in life. He loved to go fishing, he was an avid golfer and even tried his hands at gardening. He needed an instruction manual at first but in the end you would think he was born with a green thumb. 

Dwight enjoyed nothing more than spending close time with Family and friends. He will be remembered fondly.

A Celebration of Dwight's Life will take place on Tuesday, July 6th, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Wilson's Funeral Chapel Lacombe, with a time of fellowship to follow at the Kozy Korner. For those unable to attend, the service will be recorded and will be placed on the Wilson's Funeral Home website later that afternoon.
