Earl Strong
1929 - 2020
With sadness we announce Earl Strong, of Red Deer passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at the age of 91years on, September 18, 2020 at Lacombe Hospital & Continuing Care.
He is survived by his wife Erla, who loved him for 47 years; his daughters, Carolyn, and Joanne (Stan); Son, Glen (Susan); grandchildren, Candace, Caulette, Carrie, Adam, Christie, Eric, Ryan and Ashley; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family and an abundance of friends.
Earl was predeceased by his father, in a farm accident 84 years ago, and his mother, by a difference of 35 years, plus 1 day on September 19, 1985. Also predeceasing him are siblings, Ernie, Everett, Ellen and Kaye; his daughter, Maxine; and his children’s mother, Mavis Strong.
He was an exceptional carpenter and cabinet maker, home builder and renovator. Also, a natural, gifted and self taught, musician. Music was his happy place, especially with friends at Waskasoo Estates.
Cremation has occurred, as per his wishes. He will be laid to rest in his hometown of Boissevain, Manitoba, besides his beloved mother, Charlotte Strong. No plans for a celebration of life until we are able to gather together to reflect and remember this special, kind and loved man.
