Etta Moore

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Henrietta “Etta” Moore, age 92, who departed this life peacefully on April 9, 2025 in Lacombe Hospital, surrounded by her son Don (Yvonne), daughter Barb (Lorn), daughter Kathy and granddaughter Tristan. 

Born on June 9, 1932 in Carbon, AB. Etta lived a long, rich, and meaningful life marked by kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. 

Etta grew up and attended school in the Faraway Community, west of Rimbey.  Etta was a career homemaker who cherished raising her five children - Don, Roger, Ellen, Barb and Kathy. Later, she worked delivering mail, at Home Hardware and as a camp cook. She loved her home on the acreage at Tees. After moving from there, she lived in several communities including Rimbey, Rocky, Alix, Red Deer, Blackfalds and, most recently, in Lacombe. Etta was a gifted cook/baker and sewer, enjoyed time with her family, moments with her horse, and being outdoors. She valued the many friendships she made throughout her journey. 

Along with her children she is survived by many of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and one sister, Alice.  She was predeceased by her son Roger and three grandchildren - Shane, Justin and Crystal.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the legacy she leaves behind. 

A Graveside Service at Tees Cemetary will follow at a later date. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Prins, Dr. Letain, the Lacombe Hospital staff and the Lacombe Lodge for the care they provided as well as Wilson's Funeral Chapel for their support.
