It is with great sadness, that the family of Evelyn (Vicky) Schrader announce her passing on Monday, February 22, 2021 surrounded by her family at home. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, granny, great-grandmother (GG), sister, aunt and friend.
Evelyn Doris Schrader (nee Dentman) was born in Bentley on April 25, 1936. After spending time on a farm near Forshee, Evelyn spent her young years in Penticton, Prince George and parts of Saskatchewan before coming back to Rimbey. While in Rimbey Evelyn met Clifford Schrader, they fell in love and were married on July 24, 1954.
Evelyn worked outside the home for a big part of her life. She was active in Oilwives and Kinette clubs as well as being an Eastern Star member.
Evelyn’s family was always very important to her, both immediate and extended. There are many of her children’s friends who still call her mom! Evelyn loved to sing and had a beautiful singing voice.
Evelyn’s passions over the years were her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and taking care of the backyard to have family and friends over. Her yard was filled with an abundance of flowers and solar lights and her garden was always full of vegetables. Cliff and Evelyn spent many summer afternoons watching the birds eat from the numerous feeders that Cliff kept filled for them. While lying in her hospital bed at home these last few weeks Evelyn was entertained by the many birds that came to the feeders outside her window.
Evelyn is survived by her 3 loving children Roxanne, Steve and Barry (Stacy); her beloved grandchildren, Lance (Camilla), Dallas, Shane (Nan), Vanessa, Logan (Amy), Chase and Dawson (Brady); and treasured great-grandsons, Drake, Cedrik, Xavier and Andy. She will also be greatly missed by her much-loved sisters, Lynn Kostenuk, Debra (Roger) Haraba and sister-in-law Viola Schneider, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Cliff in 2009, her parents Lois and Clarence(step-father) Fjellstrom, sister Judy, brother Larry, son-in-law Andy, sister-in-law Shirley Olson, brother-in-law Frank Schneider and nephew Jefferson Fjellstrom.
