Francisca Bencio Selirio

Francisca (Baby, Fran) Selirio passed away the early evening of October 29, 2024 on a plane at Vancouver International Airport while returning from a holiday in the Philippines.  Fran is survived by her husband Isidoro (Dodong, Sid) Selirio, daughters Tanya (Chris Tolley) and Belinda (Chris Salewich), 3 grandsons, 3 sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Cayetana & Roberto Bencio, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Born in Manila, Philippines, she came to Canada in 1966 to work and study in Toronto.  She met her future husband on their way by bus to Expo67, and 3 years later they were married and lived in Guelph, Ontario until they moved to Lacombe in 1978.  Fran worked at Canada Post until she retired in 2008.

Fran enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, helping others, sharing her cooking, travelling, the casino, and visiting and playing mahjong with friends.

Her unconditional love, friendship, generosity and beautiful memories will always be in our thoughts and cherished in our hearts forever.

A Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Wilson's Funeral Chapel (6120 Hwy 2A, Lacombe) from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with Prayers starting at 6:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Stephen Catholic Church (5128 53 St, Lacombe) at 11:00 a.m.
