Gerrit Meindersma

The family of Gerrit Meindersma would like to announce his passing on Tuesday August 31, 2021 at the age of 98.

Gerrit is survived by his Wife Dorothy, Daughter Rose and nine Grandchildren and eighteen Great Grand Children. He is predeceased by his first Wife Stina, Daughter Grace and Sons Dick and Larry.

Gerrit was born in Holland he immigrated to Canada at the age of five with his parents and two brothers. After meeting Stina he settled in Lacombe after trucking for many years and started farming West of Town. He enjoyed many family gatherings on the farm throughout the years. After retiring he spent many winters traveling and enjoying the sun in Sky Valley. Gerrit enjoyed so many of his friends while Golfing, Bowling and Shuffleboard. After Stina’s passing he met his second wife Dorothy spending the last 18 years of his years enjoying the views of the farm land with Dorothy by his side. He will be greatly missed.

A special thanks to the Lacombe Health Care Staff for their wonderful dedication to the special care they took of Gerrit in his final days and weeks. Also, to the Lacombe Home Care Staff for their attention throughout the years.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held the morning of Saturday September 04, 2021.

A Public Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel CRC on Saturday September 04, 2021 at 2:00 pm. 

As per families request all in attendance are asked to wear a mask. MASKS ARE MANDATORY
