Grace Lillian Anderson
1926 - 2022
Grace Lillian Anderson (nee: Ellerby) went peacefully home to be with her Lord September 10, 2022, at age 96. Lillian was born June 4, 1926 at Coronation, Alberta, to Wilbur and Grace Ellerby. She is the eldest of seven children, and is survived by her sister Mary, Lillian's oldest son Garry Wayne, his wife Elaine, grandchildren Krista and Steven, and great-grand daughters, Jocelyn, Josephine and Avery, and youngest son Brian Lynn, his wife Cheryl, grandchildren Jessica (Stephen), Joy-Lynn (Kelly), Jeffrey (Christine), Joel (Heather), Jennifer, Jordan, Joseph, Jeremy, Justin, Janessa, Jillian, Jaxon, Jocelynn, James, Johanna and Josie, great-grandchildren, Carson (Shayla), Kahl, Keenan (Lisa), Zachary, Kendra, Shandeah, Larissa, Logan, Zane, Kai, Brooklyn, Haiden, Solomon, Avery, Rowan, Zoe, Ella and Greyson and great-great-grandchildren Daxton, Kalea and baby girl on the way for Keenan and Lisa.
Lillian spent her childhood on the farm near Throne, Alberta, with her siblings Wray, Albert, Ruth, John, Mary and Ben, and then moved to Calgary where she met her husband Robert. They married May 31, 1952, and remained in Calgary until 1993, when they moved to Three Hills, Alberta. Lillian worked as a nurses' aide, and then went on to a long career with the University of Calgary, until retirement, in 1991.
Lillian loved home-making, handcrafting, cooking, southern gospel music, and socializing. She had a distinctive full laugh and was always there for her friends and family if she saw a need. Like her name, she carried grace into many very difficult situations, over her lifetime, and was never one to complain about her own pain or difficulties. She loved her Heavenly Father, and His Word, and was a faithful church attendee as long as it was possible for her.
There will be no funeral, but Lillian will be laid to rest, in a private interment, at Three Hills Cemetery, together with her late husband Robert, who passed away in 2010.
