Graeme Stuart Rice Obituary

Graeme Stuart Rice, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend was taken much too soon when he died suddenly at the age of 47 on April 21st, 2026.

A farmer by trade and by heart, Graeme lived a life that was as big as the fields he tended and as vibrant as the adventures he led.

Graeme was a fixture in the community, showing up and volunteering whenever he could. He loved to make connections with people and he lived with a fundamental fear of missing out.

As a husband to Christina, he was her strongest support, and a partner in every adventure, always looking for the next memory to make. As a father to his boys, Walker and Archer, he was their greatest coach and their biggest fan.

On the basketball court, “Coach Graeme” was a fixture of mentorship. He pushed his players to be better athletes, but more importantly, he taught his sons and their teammates the value of sportsmanship, endurance, and showing up for one another.

Graeme is forever held in the hearts of his loving wife, Christina, and his pride and joy – his sons Walker and Archer.

He leaves behind his devoted parents, Ann and Edward, and his brother, Gary (Erynn - Spencer, Hadley Grace).

His loss is also deeply felt by his cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in-law, and mother and father in-law who loved him as one of their own.

The memorial service for Graeme will be held on Saturday, May 9th at 2:00pm in the Ecole Lacombe Junior High School Gym. Following the service, everyone is invited to gather for refreshments and fellowship at the Lacombe Memorial Centre in the North Centennial Hall.
