Harlee Eugene Arnold Wilson Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Harlee Eugene Arnold Wilson of Rimbey, Alberta, on February 25, 2026 at the age of 60 years. Harlee courageously fought a difficult battle with brain cancer.

Harlee was born on May 16, 1965, in Drumheller, AB, to his parents Carl and Mary Ellen Wilson. He was the first son, having two older sisters: Dee and Carla, followed by a younger brother, Randy. The family moved to Nanton in 1971, and then to Sundre in 1982, where Harlee graduated high school in 1983, and met his wife, Brenda.

Harlee and Brenda were married on June 24, 1988. They had 3 children: Denton, Wyatt and Haylee. They moved up to the Rimbey area in 1996, where they lived and ranched for nearly 30 years.

Harlee had a love for ranch life, and also for the sport of rodeo. He began competing in calf roping and team roping in High School Rodeo. He also later enjoyed competing in ranch rodeos. Harlee was involved in many rodeo boards and associations over the years. In the last several years he was stock contracting timed event cattle around central Alberta. Throughout his life, Harlee had a passion for teaching horsemanship, roping and rodeo skills to his kids and anyone else who wanted to learn.

After his diagnosis, Harlee was determined to fight and continue living his life on his own terms; he continued ranching, roping, and he loved spending time with family, friends and his animals on the ranch.

Harlee is lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Brenda Wilson; their children, Denton (Jessica) Wilson, Wyatt Wilson (Martina Holtkamp) and Haylee Wilson (Liam Richards); granddaughter, Saige Wilson; his mother, Mary Ellen Wilson; siblings, Dee (Don) Poisson, Carla (Ronnie) Ostrom and Randy (Tracy) Wilson, as well as countless cherished relatives and friends. Harlee was predeceased by his father, Carl Wilson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at the Rimbey Hospital and Community Health Centre, as well as the staff at the University of Alberta Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at Keyera Place Rimbey (formerly Peter Lougheed Community Center) on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations may be made to Stars Air Ambulance.
