Harry George Buckler

Mr. Harry George Buckler of Lacombe, Alberta passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 at the age of 91 years.

Harry is survived by his loving wife, Doris (nee Clark); daughter, Marilyn (Pat) Kievit; son, Joseph (Jennifer) Buckler; daughter, Valerie (Steven) Comis; daughter, Katherine Chapman; and daughter, Laurie-Ann (Rob) Haan; 24 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; he is also survived by his two brothers, Glen Buckler and Tom Buckler; numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Harry was born at home near Bowden, Alberta in 1933.  He farmed with his family until venturing out on his own.  Harry work in the oilfield as a driller and toolpush, a career which took him overseas to do drilling in Bangladesh. He started a manure spreading business, and, never one to sit still for long, was also a long haul trucker.  Harry worked until he was 78 years old, not wanting to retire too soon!

A Memorial Gathering to honour Harry's Life will be held at Wilson's Funeral Chapel (6120 Hwy 2A, Lacombe) on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.

Memorial donations in memory of Harry may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
