Hermann Stange

It is with great sadness that the family of Hermann Stange of Caroline, Alberta announces his passing at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Friday May 3rd 2024 at the age of 92.

Hermann will be sadly missed by his dedicated wife of 64 years Patricia Stange.  His sons Ben (Kari) Stange, Charlie Stange and his daughters Sandra (Ernie) Jimmy and Gwen (Butch) Dupont.  His grandchildren Marianne (Kyle) Kondro, Max Stange, Tane Stange, Alyx Stange (Brett), Jackson Jimmy, Raven Jimmy (Josh), Bluejay Jimmy, Jesse (Liam) O'Brien.  Great Grandchildren Langston Kondro,  Claire Thomas, Shane and Annie O'brien.  Sister's Marianne Eisentraut, Elisabeth Taylor and Irene Ewan, numerous sisters-in-law’s, brothers-in-law's, nieces and nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter Skylar Stange, his father and mother  Rudolph and Ernestine Stange.  His brother John Stange and his mother and father in-law Lottie and David Bird.

Hermann was born in Innisfail, Alberta and at the age of 18 homesteaded a quarter section of land just east of Caroline, Alberta.  That is where Hermann and Patsy raised their four children.  He was a longtime volunteer and member of the Bighorn Rodeo Association and the Elks Club.  He was a blacksmith and welder by trade and helped build the Caroline Arena. He enjoyed participating in any kind of sport. He hit a home run in a Markerville Tournament at the age of 72, wearing his cowboy boots, when he was asked to fill a spot at the last minute. In his younger years Hermann enjoyed hunting and fishing and searching for Arrowheads.

This was a true testament to the man that was kind, always willing to give the shirt off his back and help anyone in need.

                          He is in Our Hearts Forever

Hermann requested no formal funeral service.  There will be a small gathering of family and friends at a later date.
