Ida "Eleanor" Popow Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce that our wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma Ida “Eleanor” Popow passed away on November 12, 2021 at the age of 79. She passed away at the Lacombe Hospital from a short battle of cancer.

Eleanor will be sadly missed by her husband, Leo; son, Kelly (Niki); son, Greg (Virginia); and daughter, Lisa (Dan), all of Lacombe. She will be missed by her grandkids, Chelsea, Colton, Jessica, Victoria, Amanda, and Julie-ann; her great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many dear friends.

Eleanor was predeceased by her mom, Hilja Niemela; father, Arvie Niemela; and one grandson, Chance.

A gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanor’s memory may be made to the Cancer Foundation.
