It is with great sadness the family of Irene McNair announce her passing on September 30, 2024, three days after her 84th birthday.
Born in Elk Point, Alberta to parents Leona and Alex. Irene is survived by her children, Tim, Tammy (Kerry), Tracey (Carl) and grandchildren, Patricia, Craig, C.J., and Warner and one great grandchild Brooklynn.
Irene lived in Calgary for many years raising her children while working as an accountant. When the children were grown Irene relocated to B.C. where she continue to work as an accountant and volunteered at the Fort Langley National Historic Site. Irene also became an active member in the Lions Club becoming the first Lady Lion in Kamloops. Years later, Irene moved back to Alberta and resided in Red Deer. She continued to volunteer and transferred to the Red Deer Lions Club. Irene worked for Door Masters in Red Deer until her retirement and also became a member of the Leads Club where she enjoyed meeting new people.
Irene bought her house in Blackfalds, Alberta where she was able to rekindle her passion for gardening and yardwork. During the winter months, Irene continued to work outside shovelling her snow and her neighbours snow. She was always there to lend a helping hand. Irene had a big heart and a beautiful spirit. She was a kind and caring woman who always had time to listen if you ever needed to talk. Not to mention having coffee or beer on hand to offer you whenever you visited.
Irene was small in stature, but a huge part of so many lives. She made the world a more beautiful place. Irene will be missed by many, but she will be forever etched our hearts.
Special thanks to Dr. Jones and Nurse Sara, who went above and beyond when we needed it most; We are forever grateful. We would also like to thank the Lacombe County Home Care Team and the Lacombe Hospital Staff.
In honour of Irene's wishes, no services will be held.
