Jacob "Jake" Vander Leek
Obituary
At the age of 85 years old Jacob Vander Leek went into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born on December 15, 1937 on the family farm west of Blackfalds. With his family at his side passed away August 21, 2023.
Dad spent most of his life raising seed potatoes with his Dad and Brother Peter and later on his son Mike . He took great pride in farming. He was active in the community.
When he retired, him and Mom did extensive travelling. They seen many parts of the globe together. From Russia to the tip of South America and Alaska which was their favorite to Australia. There are many more destinations they achieved.
Beloved husband of Patricia. Dear father of Marvin (Rosy), John, Mike (Lisa). Cherished Grandpa of 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He is survived by Sister Dora, Sister Cathy (Stan), Brother Peter (Barb), Sister Edie (Bert)
He was predeceased by his children David (1990) and Christine (1984) He is also predeceased by his parents.
A Vistation will take place on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 6-8:00 pm at Wilson's Funeral Chapel - Lacombe
A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Woodynook CRC.
