John Ross Boles

1955 – 2024

John Ross “Johnny Joe” Boles, of Lacombe passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the age of 69 years.

Besides his loving wife of 18 years Lorna Shymkowich, John is survived by his daughter Lindsay Boles (Richard Huhn), stepson Justin Shymkowich and stepdaughter Ashley (Harley) Jennings, his grandchildren Scarlet Huhn and Harley Jennings, his father Norman Boles, brother and sister Cameron (Monique) Boles and Janice Boles (Stan Darrall) as well as his two nieces Tiffany Boles and Alecia Moneta.

He is predeceased by his mother Marion (Lou) (nee Llewellin) Boles.

John “Johnny Joe” as he is better known as, found peace and joy in the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed playing guitar and harmonica.  He worked in the construction industry as a scaffolder and was a member of the Carpenters Union #2103.  He loved his dog Bear and being a stepdad to “the puppies”.  Johnny Joe will be remembered for his sense of humor,  “the roll of his eyes” and his quick wit.

Cremation has been completed and he will be placed in the White Chapel Cemetery, Hamilton, Ontario where his mother is buried.
