John Michael “Mike” Taylor
April 27, 1949 – June 1, 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family of Mike Taylor announces his passing on June 1, 2026.
Mike will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Shauna (Duane) Bjorklund, and son, Ryan (Melissa) Taylor; his grandsons, Ryken Bjorklund, Simon Taylor, and Finn Taylor; his partner, Patricia Matheson; his sister, Kathleen Thorne; and his brother, Pat (Anne) Taylor.
He was predeceased by his parents, Simon and Gertrude (Martin) Taylor, and his brother-in-law, Selby Thorne.
Mike lived life with enthusiasm, determination, and a competitive spirit. He had a lifelong passion for sports and politics and could often be found on a ball diamond, or hockey rink well into his seventies. He proudly served the citizens of Red Deer as a member of the Red Deer City Fire Department for 30 years. His interests were many, and he pursued each of them with energy and commitment.
