With great sadness we must tell you that Judith Ann Morris passed away in Lacombe, Alberta on February 19, 2026 after a struggle with Alzheimer’s and breast cancer.
Judy is survived by her husband, Eric Solomonson, sons Matthew and Lucas, and grandson Rhys. She is also survived by her brother David (Maxine) Morris, sister Lynne Gartshore, sister-in-law Robin (Randy) Staples and nieces and nephews Shannon, Ryan, Megan, Corey, Danielle, Mark, Miranda. Kat, Jeff, Leeanne, and Thomas.
She was predeceased by her parents, Bob and Irene Morris.
Judy had a long and impactful career at Alberta Environment, first as a Land Use Planner, and later as a Waste Minimization Specialist developing recycling, composting and reuse programs. After retirement in 2010, Eric and Judy moved to a peaceful acreage near Ponoka, (Eric’s hometown).
Judy’s love, smile, warmth, and wit will be deeply missed. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and cherished friend to many. She loved the outdoors, whether scuba diving off the coast of British Columbia or camping in the mountains.
Her family wishes to thank the staff of Royal Oak Memory Care Unit, Dr Kathy Unger and Dr. Johnson for the exceptional care that Judy received.
A remembrance will scheduled later this year.
