Katherine Grace (Hammond) Hansen

Katherine Grace Hansen (née Hammond), of Alder Flats, Alberta, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, in Rimbey, Alberta.

Katherine was born on June 3, 1955, in Rimbey to Dale and Grace Hammond. On October 13, 1973, she married the love of her life, Glenn Daniel Hansen. Together they shared 52 years of marriage, building a life rooted in family, love, and devotion.

Katherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a deep love for her family and found great joy in spending time with them. She was also a talented seamstress who loved to sew, creating many treasured items over the years that will continue to be cherished by those she loved.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Glenn Hansen; her children, Shantelle (Cory) Penno and Brenden (Mary) Hansen; and her grandchildren, Carson, Logan, Jase, and Charlotte.

Katherine is also survived by her siblings: Sheila (Jim) Wilson, Garry (Diana) Hammond, Sherry Dusterhoft, and Colette (Jeff) Fiveland; her sisters-in-law, Margaret Hansen and Wendy Fenton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

She was predeceased by her brother, Leonard Hammond; her parents, Dale and Grace Hammond; her parents-in-law, Arne and Joan Hansen; and her grandparents, uncles, and aunts.

Katherine’s kindness, creativity, and love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
