Katherine Doris Harder, 72, of Lacombe, passed away on June 10, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born on December 13, 1953, in Steinbach, Manitoba; Kathy was the daughter of Jacob and Helen Bergen. She attended Clearbrook Junior High School in Abbotsford, British Columbia where she met the love of her life, Kim Harder. Kathy dedicated her life to caring for her family, friends, the Lord, and anyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Kathy was known for her kindness, integrity, and dedication to her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and camping with friends. She was an active member of her local community and supported the church that she lived across from for 44 years.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kim Harder; her children, Cory (Clare), Darren (Adele), Lea (Dale); seven grandchildren; Payton (Shepard), Boston, Brody, Brandon, Rhiannon, Lillian, Alisha; and two sisters; Mary and Susie. She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, and her daughter-in-law Tarra.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 1pm – 4pm, at Blindman Valley Agricultural Centre (5202 – 53 Street Close, Bentley, AB.). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society (reddeerhospice.com).

Kathy’s warmth, generosity, and gentleness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
