Kathleen "Kate" McCauliffe Obituary

Kathleen "Kate" Margaret McCauliffe

1955 - 2023

Kate passed away peacefully at home on October 9 at the young age of 68 years.

Kate was born in St Thomas, Ontario on March 17, 1955, and was the eighth of 9 children of  William Patrick Hague and Margaret Eleanor Hague.

At 23 years of age, she moved west to British Columbia as a Sales Rep for a pharmaceutical distribution company and soon became the Regional Manager for the western area of Canada.

With sights set high she moved on to Salmon Arm and built, opened and operated Setters Pub, which is still very much a local gathering point.  After several years in Salmon Arm, Kate moved to the Innisfail area and built a ranching operation, which was a longtime goal, mostly because of her love of animals. There were cattle, goats, cats, horses and of course dogs.

In 2017, the farm was sold and Kate moved on to meet Mark and moved to her new home in the Rimbey area where she was still able to have so many of her beloved pets.

Travel became the obsession and travel the world they did, including going to see her beloved Dallas Cowboys play in several different venues. Mexico, Thailand, Belize, throughout Europe,

across Canada and the United States.  Kate’s passions included cooking, entertaining and socializing with friends and neighbors, golfing, curling, devotion to the church and maintaining the pets that have always been a part of her life and the acreage.

She is survived by her loving husband, friend, travelling companion and soulmate Mark; her son Jon and his wife Barb with their children, son, Titus and daughter, Mallory; sisters Margie (Joe), Valerie (Bob) and brothers Steve and Pat (Terry), all still in Ontario.

Kathleens grace, her smile, her laugh and devotion to friends, family and the church will always stand out.
