Keith Marshall Obituary

Keith Wayne Murray Marshall

September 22, 1957 ~ October 20, 2024

It is with sadness that Vivian Kohn Thompson and the Marshall family wish to announce that Keith Marshall passed away in Lacombe, Alberta on October 20, 2024, at the age of 67.

Keith Marshall is survived by his significant other:  Vivian Kohn Thompson; children:  Kimberly Ratsoy & family; Adam Marshall & family:  siblings;  Jim Marshall; Curtis (Rose) & family; Blair Marshall & family; aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and their families; and friends.

Keith Marshall is predeceased by his parents, Malcolm & Maxine (nee Tanner) Marshall; Veronica (nee Willington, Blair’s wife) Marshall; and an uncle.

Keith was born in Lunenberg, Nova Scotia.  He remembers enjoying the opportunities to go out on the boat fishing with his dad and catching many tuna. Keith loved going for walks in the woods with family as a young boy. Grandma’s place was a favorite place to visit.  At the age of 10, the family moved to Lacombe, Alberta.  Keith enjoyed putting model vehicles together.  He attended Canadian Union College and Kingsway College for High School and met his first wife, Clarice, there and was married for a short time at the end of High School.  They had two children:  Kimberly and Adam.  Some years later Keith married Jose; they were together for 6 years.  Keith worked at various jobs with some construction off and on, but he spent most of his time working as a professional painter and owned his own business for many years.  Keith loved to go out to visit family, friends, and church members.  Activities he enjoyed often were walking, hiking, cycling, and watching nature programs where he admired God’s handiwork.

Keith loved to travel locally and abroad, especially to the Dominican Republic, and to Cuba.  He took it upon himself to gather funds and with a dear close friend, travel directly to Cuba to purchase bicycles, refrigerators, and washing machines for many Pastors and their families.

Keith believed that he should read the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy and talk and write about God in witness to others.  Though he himself struggled to walk with God, he wanted to have the heart and mind of Christ and hoped to inherit eternal life and wants the same for everyone, especially those closest to him.  His favorite scripture was Psalm 119 and John 15.

The Memorial Service will be held Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, 10:30 a.m. at the College Heights SDA Church, 6910 University Drive, Lacombe, Alberta.  There will be a graveside service and luncheon afterwards.  We will have the service livestreamed.  You may watch it during the actual service through the following link: http://vimeo.com/event/5201020  After the event, the video of the service will be available to view and download at: http://vimeo.com/chsda/videos
