Kelly Lynn Stock

Kelly Lynn Stock passed away peacefully January 17, 2023 at Red Deer Hospice. Kelly was born October 4, 1956 in Lacombe Alberta to Noel and Marjorie Stock. Kelly is survived by his loving family; brother, Cal Stock (Barb), nephews, Tanner Stock (Kaylee) and their children, Aubrey and Hayden, Landon Stock (Jen) and their children Harper and Naia, and stepmother Jean Stock. Kelly was predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Stock, father, Noel Stock, sister, Elana Stock and brother, Raymond Stock.

Kelly spent his childhood in Lacombe where he attended school and played sports until his health force him to the sidelines. He loved hockey (Montreal Canadians), baseball (New York Yankees), football (Saskatchewan Roughriders) and was their most dedicated fan. Kelly was very involved in both curling and bowling throughout his life, as his health allowed him to participate in these two sports. Kelly was selected for the Special Olympics Alberta Curling Team for several years. He and his teammates came home from the 2008 Quebec Special Olympics with a Sliver Metal. He cherished both his metal and his time playing with his friends on this team. He also had numerous trophies and high scores in bowling.

Kelly lived his adult life in Red Deer working at the Black Knight Inn and Holiday Inn as a custodian. Later, he was employed by Cosmos Bottle Depot. Kelly was well respected and loved by everyone who was blessed to know him.

The last eight years of Kelly’s life were spent with Catholic Social Services living at Garden Heights in Red Deer. The love and support Kelly received will never be forgotten. He truly loved those who looked out for him and became his everlasting friends.

Kelly’s family are deeply grateful to the staff at the Red Deer Hospital Emergency Ward and Unit 32 as well as the Red Deer Hospice for the wonderful care he received during his final days.

A Celebration of Kelly's Life will be held at the Lacombe Memorial Centre (5214 50 Ave, Lacombe), on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 2:00-4:00p.m.
