Kevin Prins Obituary

Kevin Prins

On Friday, July 22, 2022, Kevin Prins, loving husband, father, poppa, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away at the age of 58. Kevin was born in Edmonton, Alberta and grew up in Lacombe. At Calvin College he met the love of his life, Cindy Lou Chabica. On July 21, 1984, they were married in New York. They settled in Lacombe, where they worked to take over Kevin’s family farm and raise a family. Kevin had a love for spuds and agriculture, he took pride in his crops and the lifelong connections he made with fellow growers. He worked hard to play hard and treasured the memories of vacations with family & friends. He had a huge love of hockey from his early years of playing to cheering on the Flames. He loved to ride and feel the wind on his face. Kevin will be sadly missed and forever remembered for his big heart and generous nature. His family, beautiful children and precious grandkids filled his heart with immense pride. Always and forever, he will be a part of us.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife Cindy; his children, Ryan (Jenna), Terran, Connor and Paige; grandchildren, Cohen, Della and Ira; parents Frank and Irene Prins; siblings, Doug, Darlene and Coralee (Jeff); nieces and nephews, Andrew, Victoria, Lily and Luke. Kevin was predeceased by his father-in-law Edward Chabica. He held a close bond with his American family as well as other numerous extended family and close family friends. A special family tribute to honour and remember Kevin was held July 29th at Wilson’s Chapel. Sincere gratitude to Alex and their entire staff for the personal level of comfort and peace they were able to extend to us at this tragic time. We are forever blessed for the Love, support and generosity of family and friends surrounding us. We will carry it and Kevin’s heart with us always.

Donations, if desired, may be made in Kevin’s name for Mental Health Awareness  or Parkinson’s, in honour of his mother-in-law, Shari Chabica.
