September 10, 1969 ~ May 15, 2022 (age 52)

Obituary

It is with great sadness the Zemlak family announces the unexpected passing of Kim Jody Zemlak of Lacombe, Alberta on May 15th, 2022 at the age of 52 years.

Kim is survived by his loving spouse, Lorena Zemlak (Collins); children, Breydon Zemlak, Colton Zemlak (Celina Doerksen), Brooklyn Zemlak, Caitlyn Zemlak (Cole Martin), Taite Dohlman; grandchild, Beckett Milton John Zemlak; his children’s mother, Michelle Zemlak (John Lee); father, Len Zemlak (Wanda Zemlak); mother, Judy Zemlak; brother, Mark Zemlak (Rochelle Zemlak); sister, Tammy Van Impe (Dean Van Impe). As well as many loved and cherished nieces, nephews, great nephews, brother in-laws, and an abundance of family and friends.

Family was always the utmost importance to Kim. Although dedicated to his work, he never missed an opportunity to spend time amongst all his family and was sure to never miss one of his kids’ games, no matter what sport.

Kim loved his home; this is where you could often find him working on old projects or riding his lawn tractor with a beer in hand while Garth Brooks played on his DeWALT speaker. However, Kim loved nothing more than his home away from home, his trailer. Time at the trailer for Kim meant spending time with his grandson and he truly enjoyed nothing more than being a grandpa.

Kim was nothing shy of an amazing, hardworking, selfless man who cared for everyone, and anything more than he ever did himself. Whether that meant being there for his wife and family, or fostering animals in need of a home, he never failed to provide.

Kim will forever be remembered for his endless amounts of Saskatchewan roughriders’ apparel and his perfectly timed sarcastic wit, followed by a smile that would brighten any room.

To commemorate Kim’s legacy, a Celebration of Life will be held on June 11, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Zemlak family home.

In memory of Kim’s love for animals, in lieu of flowers donations may be directed to an animal rescue of your choosing.
