Linda Sheflo Obituary

Mrs. Linda Sheflo of Lacombe, Alberta passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at the age of 60 years.

Mom loved the simple joys in life: watching movies, laughing at episodes of MASH*, sitting around a campfire with a cold beer, and heading out camping or fishing. Those moments were where she was happiest—outdoors, surrounded by nature, and sharing stories and laughter with the people she loved. She loved Stewart, even when he managed to make her life a little more difficult. Their love was real—it wasn’t always perfect, but it was deep, enduring, and honest, just like Mom herself. And if you knew her, you know “honest” might be an understatement. Mom was one of the most stubborn people you could ever meet—but that stubbornness was also her strength. She showed courage and fearlessness no matter what life threw her way.

Her favourite colour was green, which makes perfect sense, because she had a green thumb and could bring life to anything she planted. Mornings were her favourite time of day—she loved getting up early, starting fresh, and heading off to work with purpose.

But at the end of every day, it always came back to family. To her, family was everything. And her definition of family included not just us, but also her cats, her fish, and anyone lucky enough to be welcomed into her circle. She had a way of being both the most loving and the most terrifying woman you’d ever meet. Loving, because she’d do anything for you. Terrifying, because she’d never let you forget when you crossed the line.

She was there for anyone, whenever they needed her—whether it was to listen, to help, or just to show up.

Mom will be remembered for her laughter, her strength, her honesty, and her heart. She was one of a kind, and while our hearts are heavy with loss, they are also full of love and gratitude for having had her in our lives.

We’ll miss her terribly, but we’ll carry her spirit with us—in the green of the trees, in the glow of a campfire, in the early morning light, and in every act of love and courage we show each other.
