Lisa Marie (Butler) Lauritsen

LAURITSEN

Lisa Marie Lauritsen passed away peacefully on April 30, 2019 in the Rimbey Hospital long term care facility at the age of 83 years.

Lisa was born June 16, 1935 in Bentley with her twin sister Alice. In a family of 5 girls and one boy she was raised on a farm near Alix. In 1956 she married John Neilson and moved to a farm near Castor where 2 sons were born. In 1975 she relocated to Red Deer and then Eckville where she met and married Martin Lauritsen. She resided on the farm until 2016 when she moved into the Eckville Manor where she enjoyed being in town and the many social activities. In 2018 she moved to the long term care in Rimbey where she resided until her passing. Lisa was an excellent cook and enjoyed having friends over for a meal on the farm. She was an avid Oilers fan and enjoyed to talk of the “Team”. Lisa spent many hours tending her flowers and loved to take care of her yard.

 Lisa was predeceased by her brother Bud Butler and sisters Isabell Anderson  and Elsie Skage, an infant son Cristopher, her husband of 30 years Martin Lauritsen and brother in law John Lauritsen. She leaves to mourn her two sisters Alice Matson and Dorothy Freelove   brother in law Hans Lauritsen, sister in laws Betty Lauritsen, Annie Luoma,  Mable Lund, Esther Mockford and Edith Lauritsen and their families as well as her son Darrel Neilson, three grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.   

A Celebration of Lisa’s  Life will be held at the Gilby Hall on Thursday May 9, 2019  at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will follow in the Gilby Cemetery.
