Lloyd Stephenson Obituary

Lloyd Einar Stephenson

May 1, 1938 - September 15, 2020

The family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of Lloyd Einar Stephenson, on September 15, 2020, in Bentley, Alberta at the age of 82. He was born May 1, 1938, in Innisfail, Alberta, to parents Einar & Myrtle Stephenson of Red Deer.

He is survived by His loving Wife, Sharon, (with whom he just celebrated 60 years of Marriage); His Children, Keith, Doug and Sherry; 13 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Lloyd is predeceased by his son Robert, in 2009.

Lloyd’s family farmed in Innisfail then moved to Red Deer when Lloyd was 12 years old, he was in grade 5 and finished school in Red Deer at this time. He then moved to Lacombe to take over managing his family’s feed lot at the age of 18 years. This was a very demanding job and he made a success of it over the years.

He married Sharon Sim on July 15, 1960, afterwards moving to the farm together to raise their 4 children, Rob, Keith, Sherry and Doug. They then sold the farm and moved into Lacombe in 1973.

Lloyd later bought a gravel truck to begin his own adventure for the next 10 years, where he spent a great deal of time away from home. During this time he joined Kinsmen and Kinelles for a number of years as well. He traveled on numerous trips to B.C. during those summer months and also to any other places of interest.

After this, Lloyd drove the community Bus for over 10 years. This included numerous trips to Saskatchewan, other school trips, and senior tours. He loved to deal with people of all ages and was well liked by the public. Sharon was able to join him on many of these trips as well.

He will be remembered as a man who was very family oriented and very social. He will be dearly missed by those who had the pleasure of getting to know him.

There will be no services held at this time due to current circumstances.
