Lorne Paul Wedlund

Lorne Paul Wedlund passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice at the age of 73 on October 6, 2021 after a brave battle with cancer.

Lorne was born in Lacombe, Alberta on June 1, 1948 and was raised on a farm in the Crestomere community.  Lorne married the love of his life, Ann Pedersen in 1970 and together they had four children, Laura, Darren, Krista and Angela.  His true passion was farming and he worked in various jobs throughout his farming career which took him from Victoria, BC to Fort McMurray, AB.  He also spent many years in the construction industry throughout central AB.  After moving off the farm he started hauling feed, which led him to start his own business, LA Quality Trucking.

He was predeceased by his father Paul, mother Muriel, sister Eileen and his nephew Trevor.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Ann Wedlund; daughter Laura and Darren Carlson and grandchildren Sarah, Nathan, Halle and Cole; son Darren and Myra Wedlund and grandchildren Tyler and Kaylee; daughter Krista and Marshall Harrod and grandchildren Jessica and Anessa; daughter Angela and Joshua Ernst; sister Marie and Lynn Meldrum; brother Dennis Wedlund; brother Dale and Susan Wedlund; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. 

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Lacombe Fairview Cemetery.
