Louise Lorraine (Dixson) Craig

It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Craig who departed this life peacefully on July 14, 2025 at the age of 97.

She was born June 12, 1928 in Foremost Alberta. She enjoyed a wonderful early life with her parents and six siblings, now all deceased.

She married Harry Craig in 1949.  They met at Olds Agricultural College.   They enjoyed a loving and close relationship.  Together they partnered in running a successful cattle and grain farm.  There was always a beautiful garden, home grown chickens, with lots of canning and preserving.  She could sew almost anything, enjoyed her quilting groups, played a mean hand of bridge, and had so many friends and acquaintances in the community.

Louise is survived by her son Grant (Sandi) and daughter Laurie.  She enjoyed her relationships with four step-grandchildren, Jessi (Jeff), Orin, Nolan, Devon (Katrina), and five great step-grandchildren, Chloe, Scarlett, Evie, Blair and Maxine. She had a special relationship with her neice, Lois and Reg Prostebby.

She was predeased by husband Harry in 2001, and her oldest child Bonnie in 1964.

In lieu of a formal funeral, at her request, a Celebration of Life shall take place at The Forshee Hall on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 2:00 pm.

Lunch shall be prepared and served by her beloved Forshee Ladies Club, which she was a member of more than 70 years.  Heartfelt thanks goes out to Rhea Thompson, her devoted friend, who ensured Louise got to all the club meetings rain or shine, right up to her 97th birthday celebration.
