BROWN, Margaret Louise
1943 - 2021
Margaret Louise Brown passed away peacefully at her residence in Blackfalds on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the age of 77 years.
Margaret was born in Red Deer and was the ninth and last child born to Henry and Nellie Hopkins. She was raised in the Joffre area and learned from a young age the meaning of hard work as she attended school and helped on the family farm. Margaret’s father passed away when she was fifteen years old, and her responsibilities changed. This commitment and dedication continued into her adult life. She worked for thirty-five years with the Roland Michener Centre in Red Deer in the Client Services area. She also worked with Catholic Families Services in Red Deer in the Client Services area. She was fulfilled with this career and embraced all the courses and upgrading she was provided. Margaret never fully retired until her passing as she continued her relationships with Clients in the area.
She found peace and enjoyment in her garden tending to her flowers, was an avid reader and a collector of Butterflies. Margaret enjoyed camping in her favorite spot in the Joffre area for it’s peacefulness and beauty.
She is survived by her two sons; Randy Portsmouth and Marty Portsmouth both of Blackfalds, Alberta; her granddaughter, Amber (Jeremy) Blackman; her great granddaughters, Jasmine Elliott and Justine Elliott as well as her great great granddaughter, Olivia Linda Elliott all of Red Deer. She is also survived by One sister Emily, many nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
