Mary Meade Obituary

It is with great sadness and an incredible sense of loss that we announce that Helen Mary Meade, (who went by Mary) - mother to Allison Michell Roberts, Mandy Josette Nagata (deceased) and Stephen Lee Roberts - passed away at the age of 85 years on September 22, 2025, in Lacombe, Alberta, after a long battle with dementia.

Mary was the proud grandma to her eight grandchildren, Kristen, Cody, Evan, Jesse, Gabe, Freddie, Cory and Nick; and proud great-grandmother to her three great granddaughters, Ava, Sara and Asiya.

Known for her joy and laughter, and a life serving the Lord, Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her daughter, who cared for her mom until the Lord brought her mom home on September 22.  Please remember Mary for the happiness and love she brought to people. She was an amazing mom, and she loved her children greatly.

Mary was born in 1940 in England, and that is where she grew up. Sadly, she did not have a happy childhood. She experienced much abuse but was finally able to break free of that at the age of 15. She met her husband Alan Roberts, in 1964 and they were married the same year. On June 30, 1965, they welcomed their first child, Allison. Less than 2 years later, they were immigrating to Canada in November of 1966 while Mary was pregnant with her second child. The cruel winters of Canada were a shock to Mary and Alan, but they soon got use to them. They welcomed their second baby, Mandy in January of 1967, and then their son, Stephen in 1970. After 33 years of marriage, Mary was divorced and she had a very hard time of it. She remarried in 2004 to Kerry, and they were together 9 years, until their divorce.  Mary lived the rest of her life single, which she definitely did not like, and she prayed for a husband for herself everyday.

Mary's wishes were not to have a service, rather to be cremated and to have her ashes scattered in a special place on the outskirts of Red Deer. She hoped people understood this choice and that that was her wish. She wanted to be remembered for the lively, energetic, kind, compassionate and beautiful woman that she was.

Mary will be forever in our hearts and for everyone who knew her, she loved you with her whole heart. One day we will see her again.
