Mary Jean (Campbell) Schilling

It is with great sadness that the Schilling family announces that Mary Jean Schilling of Lacombe passed away suddenly after a short and courageous battle with cancer on  June 01, 2025, at the age of 74. Mary Jean is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Wayne; her daughter Vanessa; her son Jason; her grandchildren Matt, Owen, Colin, April, Morgan, and great grand-daughter Mia. Mary is also survived by her brother Charlie (Marianne), brother Gordie; sister in-law Bertha; as well as numerous cousins and other extended family and an abundance of friends.
Mary Jean is predeceased by her parents, Mary Agnes and Thomas Campbell; her brothers Bob, Jim, and Stewart; and her sister Shirley. She is also predeceased by her mother-in-law  Ellen.
Mary Jean was born in Red Deer yet travelled extensively throughout her life having lived in such places as Syria, Egypt and the United States. Though she had many fond memories of her
travels and numerous camping trips with friends, family, and her husband, Wayne. No matter how far she, Wayne, or their children wandered, they always found their way home for Christmas, a season she held closest to her heart and filled with love, warmth, and cherished traditions.

A Celebration of Mary Jean’s life will be held on June 27 at 1:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Lacombe, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your own choice.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the hospital staff and paramedics in both Lacombe and Red Deer, whose care and kindness brought comfort during such a difficult time.
