Mrs. Mary “Frances” Spicer (nee Reist) 1923-2025
Frances Spicer went home to Jesus, on April 29, 2025 at the Royal Oak Village, reaching the amazing age of 101 and being two months shy of her 102 birthday. Frances was born on July 1, 1923, in Youngstown, Alberta, to Abraham and Alma Reist. She grew up in the Madden area until she married Walter Clarence Spicer, in 1941. They eventually purchased a farm just outside Carstairs, Alberta, where they raised their 4 boys. Wayne, Ken (Linda), Lavern (Carol), Dan (Debbie). After 20 years in the dairy business, they retired and spent over 37 winters in Phoenix, Arizona. Frances continued to her trips to Phoenix after Clarence passed away in 1993.
Frances had a very busy social life and was always heading to an event. She loved her garden and growing flowers. She made many quilts and was always ready for a cup of coffee and dessert.
She will be missed by her 4 boys and their wives, her 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her sisters Bessy and Constance, many nephews and nieces, as well as some very dear friends. Frances was predeceased by her parents, Abraham and Alma, her husband Clarence, her sister Gladys, and her brother Louis.
The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers on the
3rd floor at the Royal Oak Village, for their loving and compassionate care of Frances.
