It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mike Folkerts, who left us on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the age of 42, in Lethbridge, Alberta. Born on June 22, 1983, in Chilliwack, BC, Mike was surrounded by his loved ones in his final moments.
Mike had a deep and enduring passion for the trucking industry, dedicating much of his career to it. He worked alongside his parents at Papa Harry Trucking. He attended Lethbridge College and built lifelong friendships during his time there—connections that remained strong throughout his life. Known for his generous spirit, he was always the first one to lend a hand.
Outside of work, Mike found joy in the great outdoors. He loved hunting, camping, fishing, and spending time in nature. Some of his happiest moments were gathered around a fire, sharing stories and laughter with friends and family. With a big personality to match his stature, Mike’s presence was unmistakable—his voice and laughter often carrying across a room.
Mike’s memory will be cherished by his wife, Andrea (Brown), and their three beloved sons, Micah, Levi, and Josiah. He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Harry and Maryanne (Tetteroo), his siblings Jake (Lindsay), Andrea (Gord), and Sean (Becky), and a buttload of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his nephew Seth, his cousins David, Stephanie, and Daryl, Uncles Ken, Gerald and Pete, his aunt Bernadette, and his grandparents.
Though his time with us was far too short, the laughter, and kindness he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Mike's life will be held on Thursday, April 02, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Woodynook Christian Reformed Church.
