It is with great sadness the family wishes to announce that Myrle Nathaniel Hilman of Markerville Alberta passed away peacefully with his children by his side September 30, 2020 at the Red Deer Hospice in Red Deer Alberta after his battle with cancer at the age of 80.
Myrle is survived by his loving children. Cheryl and Greg Duffy, Gene and Susan Hilman, and Denise Williams.
10 Grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 12 siblings and an abundance of nieces, nephews, extended family and many good friends.
Myrle is predeceased by his mother Lillian Hilman, His father Phillip Hilman, and his younger brother Gerald Hilman.
Myrle was born in Bentley, Alberta September 8, 1940. He was the first of fourteen children. He grew up in the sylvan lake area on the family farm, where he learned how to work hard from an early age. He loved all things farm related and could fix and weld anything. He was a master tradesman, avid horseman and a lifelong farmer through and through.
He loved his family, and enjoyed his grandchildren and cherished his heritage. During his years he was also was a long haul truck driver and travelled all throughout North America. Merle had many lifelong friends too numerous to mention.
Myrle’s Funeral Service will be held on October 10, 2020 at Wilson’s Funeral Home. Regretfully due to Covid restrictions, it will be by invitation only.
