Nelda Lorrain (Letkeman) Jackson

It's with deep sadness that the Jackson family wish to announce the passing of
Nelda Jackson from Lacombe, Alberta. Nelda was not only a beautiful 91 years old
she was an extraordinary Mom...she greatly loved and enjoyed her children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren!
Nelda was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning her bountiful produce. Often
when we came home there was fresh baking for us to enjoy. Nelda was very
hospitable always wanting to provide a meal when family or company came.
Camping was a favored event for the whole family and was sure to bring on some
adventure! Nelda thoroughly enjoyed Christmas and lavishly gifted her family with
gifts. She would often say “I work to provide gifts to my family” and indeed she did!
Nelda was a registered nurse for 45 years! She absolutely loved the opportunity
to provide bedside care to patients and particularly the birth of new babies. From
her early years, nursing was her career goal, and the love of nursing stayed with
her throughout her life. Even after she retired, she had a yearning to return to
nursing.
Nelda is survived by her loving and caring husband, Thayer. They were gifted with
six children- 1 boy and 5 girls having, 13 grandchildren and 12 great
grandchildren.

Darla Purdy: Joshua;(daughter, Layla) Jessica (daughters, Lucy and Lola) and Lucas
Alysa Macdonald: Sierra and Jackson
Nelda's brother Vernon (Sharyn) from Swift Current, Saskatchewan; Sister Angela
(Allan) from Calgary and sister-in-law Carole Jackson from Medicine Hat. She
was blessed with many cherished extended family members in Ontario,
Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC.
Nelda is predeceased by her parents Ben and Helen Letkeman and brother Larry
(Erna) and sister-in-law Charlotte.

Special thanks to the health care team at the Lacombe Long Term Center, who
attended Nelda for the last 20 months and prior, the Home Care staff. The family
greatly appreciated the extensive care and support that was given.
As a family we are confident that we will see Mom again knowing her faith in the
Heavenly Father remained strong throughout her life.
