Nellie Elizabeth Bond (nee Patterson), passed away peacefully at the age of 96, on Friday, February 21 at Royal Oak Manor. Our Mom was an Army wife most of her life until Dad retired in 1966. She joined the Army at 18 years old and was a telephone operator. We moved several times over the years and Mom was always the one that made it bearable. She has very much missed her husband Les, who passed in 2002. Mom had a strength about her. For such a tiny lady, she made her presence known. She had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to chat one on one about her days in the Army.
She will be remembered by her daughter; Lynda (Earl), her sons, David (Peggy) and Bruce (Carol), as well as two granddaughters, four grandsons, two great granddaughter, six great grandsons, and a great, great granddaughter. We will miss you Mom but you are up there now with your old red head, and the cycle is complete.
There will be no service now. In the summer we will spread both of their ashes in the beautiful mountains of B.C., as per their wishes.
Words are not enough to thank the Management and the Caregivers at Royal Oak Manor. They are angels who held her hand until the end. We are all blessed to have known you.
