Orion “Ory” Andrew Badke passed away unexpectedly of heart failure, doing what he loved, helping on a friend’s farm near Breton, AB on February 13, 2018, at the age of 78.

Ory leaves behind his sons Allen (Dawn) of Red Deer AB, Brian (Simone) of Sicamous, BC and daughter Debbie, of Red Deer AB, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is survived by Ruth, the mother of his children, sisters Norma Germann, Iris Muster and Jean Rein.

Ory is predeceased by his daughter Linda Badke, brothers Bud Badke and Stewart Badke and sisters Florence McMeeken, Fern Graden, Myra Hemstreet, and Violet Mattioda.

Ory was born on July 23, 1939 at Stony Plain, AB to Ed and Edith Badke. After moving to the Breton area with his brothers, he started farming and raising a family. He also worked moving drilling rigs. Ory will be remembered as a quiet, easy going and always willing to help out a person.  He had a great love for horses.

Funeral services will be held from the Breton Community Hall on Thursday February 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dennis Braun officiating. Interment will follow in the Breton Cemetery. A time of fellowship and refreshment will take place in the hall and all are welcome to attend and celebrate Ory’s life.
