It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Allan Caldwell, who died peacefully at his home on January 1, 2026, at the age of 72.
Patrick was known for his strong work ethic, often working to a fault. His primary career as a high crane operator took him across the world, allowing him to experience many different countries and cultures. He was especially proud of, and fond of, the time he spent in Afghanistan, where he worked as a civilian in support of the military.
Patrick had a deep appreciation for animals, particularly horses and dogs, which brought him much comfort and enjoyment throughout his life. In his later years, he found simple pleasure in watching his favorite television shows and valued everyday routines. Patrick also had a natural ability to connect with others and enjoyed talking with his neighbours, forming many meaningful connections within the town of Blackfalds.
In the last decade of his life, Patrick found faith, embracing it with genuine passion. He was known for his thoughtful questions, curiosity, and eagerness to share his belief in Christ with those around him.
While Patrick did not always maintain close relationships with his family, he leaves behind many friends and family members who remember him in their own meaningful ways.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church.
