It is with great heartache that we announce the passing of Pierrette Ouellet longtime resident of Tangent. She left to be reunited with her husband and soulmate Roch on August 15, 2024 while her family comforted her by her side.
Pierrette and Roch had a happy and adventurous life together that included many family and friends. We are grateful to them for passing on this love of the outdoors and adventure, which includes hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and boating. She loved to travel and had lots of stories of the places she had been and the people she had met. Pierrette was a tough cookie that wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, she loved the farm and the lifestyle it allowed her to have. She loved seeing the crops grow and touring in the gator to watch their progress, and also watching the abundance of wildlife, be it a deer or a bear, walk by her living room picture window. She leaves behind her siblings, and many family and friends from around the world who will miss her quick witty remarks, competitive card games and singing songs while enjoying a nice glass of wine. She was extremely proud of her sons and grandchildren and their hard work and success in all their endeavors whether big or small. They will cherish the memories and think of Memere when making and enjoying her spaghetti sauce, meat pies or sucre a la crème, running the combines through the fields in the banks, smelling the lilacs and seeing a chipmunk run by, playing SkipBo or skunking someone in Crib.
She will be greatly missed by her sons and their families; Denis and Carolyn and Gerald and Janice, cherished grandchildren Nathaniel, Jaylin (Taten), Ian, Alexandre and Anik. and her great-grand fur-babies Hank, Rusty, Douglas and Dottie, that were always ready to give her an entertaining chuckle or a comforting cuddle.
We would like to give a special thank you to members of the healthcare community that helped keep her comfortable these last few months Dr. Hussein and Justine in Falher, as well as the Rimbey Medical Clinic especially Dr. Rylance, Dr. De Bruyn, and the incredibly caring nursing staff at the Rimbey and McLennan Hospitals.
To honour Pierrette’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
The family wants to thank everyone for your thoughtful words, hugs, and presence in our lives during this difficult process.
