Robert 'Bob' Harold Reiter

Mr. Robert 'Bob' Harold Reiter of Ponoka County, Alberta passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the age of 82 years.

Robert was born February 16, 1943 in Lacombe, Alberta to parents Francis and Elsie, and grew up on the family farm east of Lacombe. As a young man, Robert pursued a number of occupations that took him to various locations in the province, but he returned to Lacombe where he met Myra and the two were married on April 21, 1965. They started their family, and Robert’s career path saw them move from the family farm to the government research station in Blackfalds and then on to Fort Vermilion in northern Alberta.

After many years in Fort Vermilion, the family moved to Bonnyville, where Bob began his electrical trade. After moving to the acreage in Ponoka with Myra, work as an electrician took Robert to many places in Alberta and Saskatchewan, but his home base remained in central Alberta. After he finished with his electrical trade, Robert and Myra owned and operated a small general store in Morningside before Bob retired to the acreage.

Throughout the years, Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, and continued to enjoy both activities, along with quadding and camping well into his retirement years. Living on the acreage meant an endless list of projects that kept Robert busy and active into his eighties.

Robert was very loved, and will be missed dearly by son Rob (Donna) and grandchildren Rodney (Virginia), Denise (Gregory) and Randy (Emily) and great grandchildren Oslo and Alden; son Jonathan (Juliette) and grandchildren Benjamin, Nicole, Hannah, Owen (Cassaedie) and Saje; daughter Patricia (Conrad) and grand children Alex (Bella) and Kristen (Christian).  Robert was predeceased by Myra, his wife of 52 years, his parents and brothers-in-law Jim, Henk and Bert but is survived by many brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews: Ray (Audrey); Sharon; Barbara; Donald (Dorothy); Rod and Anna; John (Stephanie); Dan (Dorothy); Johanna (Malcolm); Sarina (Bob); Gerard (Betty); Ulla (Poul); Annie; Marilyn.

Robert will be laid to rest in the Saron Lutheran Church Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life will be held on December 6, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel in Lacombe, Alberta, with lunch to follow at the Westling Hall.

The family is very grateful and appreciative of the care Robert received while in hospice at the Ponoka General Hospital.
