The family of Rosamond Duke wishes to announce she passed away peacefully at Lacombe Long Term Care Center. She was married to her loving and devoted husband Bob for 68 wonderful years.

Rosamond was born in Vegreville, Alberta to Jack and Nora Rogers. She grew up on a farm in the small community of Bentley, where she completed high school, and went on for further education at Olds College. She was long employed at the Bank of Montreal, initially in Rimbey where she met Bob, and later years in Lacombe where they raised their family together.

Family was the most important part of Rosamond`s world and she especially enjoyed gathering around a home-cooked meal. She and Bob hosted countless gatherings in their home and cottage throughout the years for family and friends. She has spent a lifetime involved in her children`s, grandchildren`s and great grandchildren`s lives.

Rosamond and Bob had a close-knit group of lifelong friends with whom they shared many experiences. This included travel, cross country ski trips, ringing in many New Years together and countless other adventures and shenanigans. 

Rosamond and Bob were very involved in the Lacombe Kinettes and Kinsmen Club.  Rosamond was a longtime active member of Eastern Star and remained so until her health declined. Although she was no longer able to participate in person, her interest in the club remained. As a cancer survivor, Rosamond was a dedicated supporter and participant of the Terry Fox Walk for over 30 years and achieved the “Most Funds Raised” award for several years. She was also involved with the Anglican Church for many years.

Rosamond will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature. She never spoke a harsh word about anyone and valued people for who they were. She always had a quick laugh for witty humour, which runs strong in our family and among their friends. She will be deeply missed.

Rosamond was predeceased by her parents Jack and Nora Rogers, brothers Roy and Gordon, Bob`s parents Jack and Mary Duke and numerous other family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband Bob and their four children:

Son Greg (Karen) their children - Krista Topham (Trevor) Austin, Braelyn; Janelle Duke; Cheri Hudema (Ryan) Lennon, Tucker, Vaida.    

Daughter Barb Stock (Cal) their children - Tanner (Kaylee) Aubrey, Hayden; Landon (Jen) Harper, Naia.

Daughter Karen Duke (Barry Green) their children Stefan (Brandi); Spencer.

Son Allen (Deena) their children - Larissa; Samantha, and grandson Leo.

Rosamond is also survived by her sister Sylvia Tentinger.

A sincere thank you to everyone from Unit 3 at Lacombe Long Term Care that cared for Rosamond in her last few years of life. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
