Sarah White Obituary

WHITE, Sarah Evelyn

1957 – 2023

With profound sadness we share the passing of Sarah Evelyn White. Much adored mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend on May 10, 2023.

She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Kalyn (Cindy), grandchildren Kane, Kenzie and Kravin. Daughter Alisha (Andrew) Alicia and Nathan. Her brother Simon, sisters Louise (Bruce) and Gail (Mark). Niece and nephews Myles, Jonathan, Sean (Brittany), Rebecca (Jordan), Jared (Shelby) and Travis. As well as numerous close friends and extended family members.

Sarah was born in Stettler November 26, 1957, 15 minutes after her twin brother Simon. Her first few years were spent on a farm in the Rumsey area until moving to Warden in 1962. Sarah attended Waverly School and Wm E Hay Composite High School. Upon graduation Sarah embarked on a successful 40 year career with The Bank of Nova Scotia. Starting as a Teller working her way to a Personal Banking Officer and ending in what the bank referred to as Mid Office upon her retirement.

In 1981 Sarah married Roland Beyeler and to this union a son, Kalyn and daughter, Alisha were born. Sarah had many pictures of the kids from school and professional sittings. A tradition she lovingly continued with her grandchildren.

In 2007 Sarah moved back to the family farm where she lived until meeting Douglas White. She relocated to Lacombe and in 2010 they were wed. The White Family welcomed her with open arms as did the neighbours and friends of the area. Sarah and Doug enjoyed their 5th Wheel and quadding “West of the 22” as Doug would say. They had many acres of mowing on their acreage and Sarah met that chore with determination, her ride on mower, a big hat and yes, her Crocs! Everyone knew her drink of choice was a Timmy’s Ice Cap. Her vehicle was trained to find all the Drive Thru’s!

Sarah started volunteering at the Lending Cupboard in 2016. She found a purpose as well as some very close and dear friends. Another family unit!

Sarah’s love for her children Kalyn and Alisha knew no boundaries. She was so very proud of their accomplishments, work ethic and green thumbs-enjoying the fruits of their labour! Never did a day go by that she wasn’t in touch with them.

Sarah’s grandchildren were her joy! She was active in their lives and so supportive in all their many activities. Sarah became proficient in texting, Facetime, Instagram and Snap Chat to stay in touch with them. Whenever she ran into an IT problem, a call was sent out to a family member to fix the damn thing! Sarah was none as Granny Two Shoes a loving name that was given to her by the grandchildren.

Sarah was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the fall of 2018. A tremendous shock but she met the challenges with resilience and unwavering hope. We all thought we had more time with her.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr Van Niekerk for his caring support. Dr Nelson and his team at the TBCC for their guidance, the Red Deer Home Care and Palliative Care Team for their prompt attention and warmth and the Red Deer Hospice for their compassion and care. The Wilson’s Funeral Chapel and Crematorium for their kind assistance in the arrangements.

At Sarah’s request there will not be a funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date for the family and close friends. If family and friends would like to make a donation, please donate to the Red Deer Hospice at https://reddeerhospice.com/donate/,  or Lending Cupboard, Red Deer at https://www.lendingcupboard.ca/donation

In closing the family would like to thank everyone that was a part of Sarah’s life for their love, friendship and support. Sarah had such a big heart and we know everyone was touched in some way from knowing her.  Please view the video tribute provided by Sarah's family on the Tribute Wall of Sarah's Webpage.

Remembering you is easy, we do it everyday. Missing you is the heartache that never goes away.
