Shirley Mary Ellen Miller (nee Sampson) passed away on October 15, 2025 at Red Deer Regional Hospital. She went to be with her Lord at the age of 90 years.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Ben) Hermary; grandchildren, Daniel (Jason) Leidal, and Jody (Mayra) Hermary; great grandchildren, Darien, Keegan, Marrick Leidal, and Aiden, Cristian, Belle Hermary; sister-in-law, Joyce (John)Trynchuk; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Mervin Elmer Miller of Lacombe, Alberta; sister, Bernice Claughton of Nanaimo, B.C.; and parents, Alex and Alice Sampson of Ontario.
Mom had an amazing full life of travel and spending time with family, the two most important things to her. She spent her time with Oil Wives, Red Hatters, and bowling, where she enjoyed the company of friends.
We would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Red Deer Regional Hospital for their compassionate care of mom on Unit 23 and palliative care (Unit 33).
A Memorial Service for Shirley will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson's Funeral Chapel (6120 Hwy 2A, Lacombe), with interment at Gull Lake Cemetery.
A Video Recording of the Service will be made available shortly following its conclusion.
