It is with heartbreaking sadness we announce the passing of Stanley “Stan” Charles Loyek of Rimbey, Alberta. Stan fought a hard battle with prostate cancer and passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on September 16, 2021 at the age of 67. Stan is predeceased by his parents Henry Loyek and Margaret Loyek and sister Danette Loyek.

Stan is survived by his loving wife Jocelyn, brother Murray Loyek (Tracy), sisters Marleen Rice (Jim), Cathy Loyek (Brad) and very special cousin Pat Kriz (Lorne).  Cherished brother-in-law to Cheryl Scotney of St. Catharines, Ontario, Todd Scotney (Theresa) Vineland, Ontario and Paula Scotney (Brad) Grimsby, Ontario, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

“Uncle Stan” was very proud of his nieces and nephews and their accomplishments, his physical presence and big heart and smile are going to be missed by family and friends. We will carry you in our hearts wherever we go. Rest well Stan. As per Stan’s wishes there will be no formal service and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. 

The family would like to thank Dr. K Rylance, Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre Staff, Rimbey Medical Clinic Staff and the Primary Care Nurses for their care and expertise over the last year for Stan. Thank you to the staff and Dr. Tarukandirwa of the Central Alberta Cancer Centre in Red Deer. Lastly, Stan had great gratitude for Dr. Robert Korbyl and Unit 21 staff for giving him the gift of mobility these last seven years and the positive encouragement to meet that goal.
