It is with great sadness; the Ross family announce the passing of Steve (Donald) Ross. Steve passed away after battling dementia and other health complications. He passed away at the Lacombe hospital at the age of 75.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Joanne Ross. His 3 children; Morgan, Lowen and Connor Ross, and his grandchild Embury Ross.
Steve Ross is predeceased by his son Leith Ross.
Steve was born and grew up in Red Deer Alberta. He attended Red Deer Collage and then went on to the U of A to complete his B.S.c in biochemistry. He worked at the U of A as a research assistant and electron microscopy technician. Steven and Joanne were married in 1978 in the Meadow Brook church. For their first anniversary Joanne gave Steve a book on beer can collecting, which started the many years of collecting beers cans and bottles from all over the world. Steve was interested in how things worked so he fixed electron microscopes, took courses in electronics and also became a heavy-duty mechanic.
The Ross family are having a celebration of life for Steve. This is going to be at the Ross family home. 5537-52 Ave Lacombe. Friday July 19th starting at 1 pm. Please bring a lawn chair and memories.
Special thanks to Lacombe hospital long care staff.
