Thelma Gladys Webb was born on August 17, 1930, to Murph and Mary Webb of the Fuller District. Thelma grew up on the farm and attended Fuller School and completed her high school education in Rimbey at the white school. After graduating grade 12, she was hired as a teacher at Rimbey for 2 years. In 1950 Thelma married Adrian Resta and they settled on the farm in the Fuller District where they farmed until 1984. Adrian and Thelma had 3 children: Patricia, Sherry and Brian. Her 3 children all married between June 1973 and May 1974 and left an empty nest for their parents, so Thelma took employment at the Parkland Manor in Rimbey and later at the new Rimbey Extended Care Center adjoining the Rimbey Hospital.
In 1984, Thelma and Adrian moved into Rimbey to retire where they resided until Adrian’s passing in 2019. The following year Thelma moved into the Rimbey Valley View Manor and in late 2022, she relocated to Timberstone Mews Assisted Living in Red Deer. Her most recent and final move was to her heavenly home above on January 17, 2026.
Thelma was known for her remarkable painting talent, she belonged to the Rimbey Art Club and entered many of her paintings in Art Shows. She was also known for her ability to grow a topnotch garden year after year, especially pretty flowers and delicious tomatoes. Throughout her married life, her commitment to the Lord was front and center, and she faithfully read Bible stories at bedtime to her children, sang in the church choir, taught several Sunday School classes, and participated in a mission work trip to Honduras.
Thelma and Adrian loved to take drives around the countryside, camp with friends and family, travelled to Washington,Hawaii, Florida, Mexico, and their last big excursion was a trip to the Maritimes to visit their granddaughter Brandi Cooper in New Brunswick, explore PEI, and Nova Scotia, at age 80 and 85.
