Timothy "Tim" Carter Obituary

Timothy Lind Carter

October 8, 1967 to February 4, 2021

Tim was welcomed into the world on October 8, 1967, in Westlock, Alberta. He was the first son of Romona and Gary Carter. Later on, he became a big brother to Chad, Jon and Chrissy.

Tim was blessed with good looks, intelligence and a dashing personality. Much of his childhood was spent overseas in Iran and Saudi Arabia where he developed a worldly view. There, he forged cherished friendships that would last throughout his life. Tim traveled to amazing places throughout the world, all before the tender age of 14. At 15, he continued his studies in Dublin, New Hampshire, at a prestigious boarding school. Despite being all over the world, he was always the happiest at his grandparent’s home in Fawcett, Alberta. In his time there, he bonded with his loving extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tim was a fast learner and quickly excelled as a flooring professional, completing many high end projects in Edmonton such as the Fantasyland Hotel and many parts of West Edmonton Mall. He was a very intricate craftsman, paying close attention to detail and taking extreme pride in his work. He was always able to add an artistic flair to anything he touched. Over the years, he shared his expertise with many family members who, to this day, owe him many thanks for successful careers of their own. Tim was a lover of music and was always surrounding himself with his favourite songs while he developed elaborate, hand-made projects such as Carter Brothers Cat Trees, Custom Carpet Mats, unique marble chess sets and many others.

The major pride in Tim’s life came from his boys- Jesse, Ben, TJ, Charlie and Andy. A recent exciting addition was his first granddaughter Maggie, whom he adored. One of the last projects he completed was for her- a scaled doll house complete with furniture, decor and working lights.

Tim also had a lifelong connection with his devoted, loving mom Romona. They spent special times together laughing, driving the back roads and camping on the shores of mountain lakes. A very sincere thank-you also goes out to Tim’s aunt and uncle, Shirley and Murray, for their unwavering support over the years.

An educational scholarship has been created to provide a legacy for Tim’s granddaughter Maggie. If you would like to contribute, please contact Chrissy at chris.walrod@gmail.com.

May your soul rest in peace, dear fellow.

You will be greatly missed.
