Valorie Lynne Boyd 1958 -2025
It is with profound sadness that Valorie's family announces her passing on September 14, 2025 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Valorie leaves behind the light of her life, her "Sonshine" Tyler, her mom, Mary Field (John), her best friends, sisters, Colleen Reece and Kaedyn Wessel (Warren), and her dear brother Jimmy (Gwen). Valorie was adored by her nieces, Brandi Hamelin (Charles), Keera Reece (Blake), Tara Reece and special grandnephews Ethan, Austin, Jaidyn, Jaxon, Maddox and other family members. She also leaves behind her special and constant companion, Jerry Wilson. Valorie was predeceased by her dad, Edward Boyd and grandparents, Jim and Margaret Rowley. Valorie's courage was undaunted as she met the challenges of open-heart surgery in 2015 and a stroke in 2021.
Valorie was a spunky lady and full of fire. Her laugh was like the warmest hug, and her wit would create the biggest smiles. Her son Tyler, her close family and her friends were her biggest priorities, and she loved all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She wore her heart on her sleeve and had a fight in her bigger than life itself. Valorie was a protector and fierce defender and gave her heart away to those she loved. She never shied away from the hard parts of her life and always put others comfort before her own. Valorie could be feisty when she did not agree with somebody, but she did have a wonderful humorous side to her, and she loved a good party.
The void she leaves in our lives will be felt for an eternity and she will forever be missed and loved.
Isaiah 40 verse 31 was one of Valorie's favorite biblical passages:
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
